Ten on Tuesday

I know it's late, but I have linked up with Roots & Rings for Ten on Tuesday, anyway.

Here are the questions for this week:
WOULD YOU RATHER:
1. eat chocolate covered grasshoppers or this freaky squid thing?
Definitely the grasshoppers...I'm so grossed out watching that squid video!
2. never see another movie or never watch TV again?
This one is hard...I don't watch a lot of TV now but I do watch a lot of Netflix which has a lot of TV on it and I can watch pretty much any TV show I want and I don't watch too many movies anyway so I would have to say that I don't really need to watch another movie.
3. be a superhero with a lame power or a super villain with an awesome power?
Superhero with a lame power.
4. eat only salty snacks for the rest of you life, or only sweet snacks?
Oh man...definitely sweets...
5. never read another book or never hear another song?
I can't believe I have to choose to give up one. I looooooooooove, looooooooove to read and music is such an enormous part of my life and music says to much and songs remind me of certain people and places...but, I would have to say...Ohmygosh this is soooo hard. Books, okay I'm going with books. As much as it pains me, I would give up reading books.
6. be a whale carcass remover or a sewer inspector?
A whale carcass remover sounds waaaaaaaaaaaay better than hanging out with someone else's poo. Not happening.
7. have no electricity or no running water?
No running water...I have friends and I need electricity for everything in my house to run/work.
8. be a dog or a cat?
Hands down I would want to be a dog!!!
9. always be hot or always be cold?
I hate being hot, like HATE, HATE, HATE being hot so I will choose to be cold because you can get warm with clothing, right?
10. be forced to watch all 3 High School Musicals on an endless loop, or the Twilight movies?
Twilight. I don't really care about them but I have seen them and I can handle watching them. Obnoxious teenagers singing songs = shoot me in the face!

Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!!

good news!

There is no need to beat around the bush, so here it is:
I'm officially FULL TIME!!!
This may not be as important to you, as it is to me, but I have sacrificed a lot when I accepted my current position - lower pay, part time, no benefits, no personal amenities...you get the idea.
I was promised full time several months back and I thought I was actually going to become full time after our summer program was over, but it never happened, so I was actually kind of shocked when my director approached me about it today. He asked me if I needed to think about it - HA! There was definitely NO need to think about it or any hesitation.

This change means a lot for Mark and I, and I couldn't be any happier. So with that said, I will be putting down the laptop for the remainder of the weekend so that I can get my house back in tip top shape since I will be gone literally all day and all evening!

Let's hope I can pull myself together to keep up with all this blogging I have been doing lately! Have a great weekend ya'll!!!

lack of motivation

There are about a million other things that I need to be doing instead of blogging/facebooking/pinteresting. Things that include:

- Loading the dishwasher
- Gathering up all the laundry to take to the laundromat this weekend
- Cleaning the bathroom
- Picking up allllll of my shoes that have somehow been scattered throughout the house
- Finishing up lesson plans for October
- Unpacking the non-perishable groceries that I got on SATURDAY...YIKES!
- Making a craft that I found on Pinterest
- Catching up with a friend or two on the phone (except that I don't have all of my friends phone numbers because I lost all of my contacts)
- Taking the nail polish off my fingers and re-painting them

This is just a small list of the things that I could be doing, but here I sit, writing this list, thinking it's just going to get itself done.

Do you ever have days like this, that you just have so much you want to get down but you have no motivation to do any of it? Maybe tomorrow after work, or this weekend I'll get around to it. In the meantime, I have a snack waiting and an episode of Jersey Shore to catch up on (Please don't judge me)!

what i'm loving wednesday

Once again, I am trying this whole linking up thing and today I am linking up with Jamie over at this kind of love with What I'm Loving Wednesday.

I'm loving that I only have 3 more days of work until the weekend.
I'm loving this cool weather that we are having. I'm done with melting for the year.
I'm loving sweatpants for the chilly nights.
I'm loving easy crafts that I can make for Fall that I found on Pinterest:

I'm always loving all products from Living Simply Soap. Tanya is the loveliest business women I know and her shop is so cute. Now is the time of year to get the best scent ever...Pumpkin Cornbread. You won't be disappointed.

Ten on Tuesday

This is my first time linking up on a blog so here goes nothin'!

Today I have linked up with Roots & Rings for Ten on Tuesday - which are ten completely random questions provided by Chelsea, the author.

1. What temperature do you keep your thermostat on during the day? Now that it is finally - and hopefully - cooled down, until next summer, my thermostat isn't on.
2. What temperature do you keep your thermostat on at night? Refer to above.
3. In a canister of mixed nuts, do you pick out certain varieties and leave the others? I always save the best for last, the almonds.
4. What is your favorite kind of M&M? Peanut Butter M&M's
5. How do you buy books? (Amazon, bookstore, new, used, electronic, etc). I like the idea of an e-reader but I actually love the idea of holding the book in my hand and seeing how far I have gotten and how much I have left. I do however, buy most of my books from thrift stores or friends give/let me borrow them.
6. How do you like your eggs cooked? Anyway you can make them - scrambled, over easy, sunny side, hard boiled, etc. - but, I've never had a poached egg before.
7. Can you whistle? Indeed I can, and my boyfriend hates that I can and he can't :)
8. What common word do you always misspell? I'd like to think I am really good at grammar and spelling (I was in a spelling bee up against 8th graders when I was in Kindergarten) but I sometimes misspell the words, "convenient" and "maintenance".
9. Are you afraid of flying? Not really, I just don't want to EVER fly on a prop plane again!
10. How often do you go shopping? What kind of shopping are we talkin' here? Grocery shopping, fun-just-for-me-kind-of-shopping, shopping-for-others-kind-of-shopping, shopping-to-blow-some-cash-shopping? Cause I haven't really been able to do any kind of shopping other than grocery shopping lately and I usually go once or twice a week.

udi's weekend

I, like most people nowadays, have to eat gluten free. I have never had a blood test (due to insurance reasons) to see if I have Celiac's Disease; but I know for sure that I have at least a food intolerance.

My friend Becky over at Welcome to the Good Life, posted about her favorite gluten free brands and I couldn't agree with her more, although I haven't tried Amy's Mac & Cheese yet (I can''t find it at my grocery store). But my most favorite brand of all gluten free time is Udi's!

On Saturday, I had a delicious (burnt) hot dog on Udi's Gluten Free Hot Dog Buns...

And then on Sunday, I had a delicious fresh mozz and pepperoni pizza on Udi's Gluten Free Pizza Crusts...

Then tonight, I topped off all of the Udi's deliciousness with Cinnamon Sugar Buttered Toast on Udi's White Bread (which is just as good as the whole grain bread they make)

Clearly, Udi's is the next best thing for gluten free bread eaters such as myself. When I say it's delicious, I really mean it's delicious! Happy eating gluten free friends!

a birthday to remember

Most birthdays are remembered for the cool present you got, the people that you spent it with or that surprise birthday party that your friends threw you, but this year and every year after, I will remember two very special angels.

My Aunt Gail (my dad's sister) died yesterday after suffering from liver disease, among other things. I didn't get to see her all that much but she still was a great person and always thought of others and put them before herself. She will be missed and is loved!

Bonnie, a mentor, a mother, a sister, a grandma, and a friend to everyone she met, got called up to Heaven yesterday. She was involved in a fatal car crash on I-270 in Columbus. She has had a profound impact on lives young and old and she will never truly know how amazing she is. She will forever be loved and missed greatly.

May the both of you, Bonnie and Aunt Gail, rest in peace and I will see you again, someday!

Sending lots of prayers, love & laughter,
J
